Participant Requirements

Mobility Agreements

GRADUATE STUDENTS LEARNING ABOUT SELF-ASSEMBLY PEPTIDES SYNTHESIS AT ARGONNE NATIONAL LABORATORY. All participants will be required to sign a mobility agreement that will attest to his/her willingness to relocate to another site within the Office of Environmental Management (EM) complex at the direction of EM management. These agreements will be in effect beyond the two year developmental period and until such time as circumstances dictate that it is expunged.

Continued Service Agreements (CSA)

Participants will be required to sign a continued service agreement as a condition to receiving extensive training, recruitment bonuses and student loan repayments. The CSA will stipulate that you will serve within EM after the completion of the 2 year developmental phase of your employment and after receipt of a recruitment bonus and/or student loan payment. Service obligation agreements will be served concurrently and in no case will a participant be obligated to serve within the EM community for more than five years.

Background Investigation/Security Clearance/Drug Testing

All DOE employees are required to pass a security background investigation. Some positions require a security clearance to be obtained. To qualify for a clearance, you have to have a clean background, with no felony arrests. You will also need references that can vouch for your positive character. In addition, some positions require random drug testing to verify that there is no substance abuse activity that will compromise an employees?ability to perform his/her job, impair judgment that jeopardizes his/her and colleagues safety and/or ruin to government property.
